Victor Cicansky is a sculptor living and working in Regina, Saskatchewan. Born in Regina in 1935, he did his undergraduate studies in Saskatchewan and Maine before completing his MFA at the University of California, Davis in 1970. He was a professor of Fine Art at the University of Regina for over 20 years.
Cicansky's clay and bronze sculptures often describe the cultural, agricultural and historical circumstances of the Canadian mid-west. He is the recipient of many honours and awards, including the Victoria and Albert Award for Ceramic Sculpture, the California Kingsley Annual Award for Sculpture, and the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. Cicansky's work can be found in important private and public collections.
